Better late than never eh! Here’s a short post covering what I got up to over Christmas. Nothing spectacular but I did have a wonderful few days with my family over the long weekend (although I had to work on the Bank Holiday Tuesday!). I didn’t do much for New Years Eve this year; in fact, I was asleep by 11.30pm!
If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you might remember that I often used to post about the cakes
and bakes I used to make. I kinda stopped baking a couple of years ago when I got my new job, but I still enjoy making a little treat every so often. For Christmas I made this chocolate house using blocks of milk and white chocolate melted down and left to set in a cottage mould. I then decorated it using icing, smarties, chocolate buttons, and sprinkles. Isn’t it cute?!
Christmas morning consisted of Baileys in my pretty vintage floral glasses along with croissants in front of our open fire. I wore this old black skater dress which has a gold sequin collar, and black tights.
So here’s ‘what I got for Christmas’! I got some really lovely things including: this amazing cat print duvet cover, cat blanket, and glass cat Christmas tree decoration from my big sister. My Mum and Dad got me the Barbour scarf to match my waxed jacket, along with the Fiorelli handbag. And my lovely boyfriend bought me the most beautiful Olivia Burton watch (so pretty!), Marc Jacobs Decadence perfume, and tickets to see You Me At Six in April.. yay!!
I bought these cute little white ceramic woodland creatures inn Poundland as they were reduced to only 50p each! They’re so sweet. And my 12 year old niece bought me these cute floral measuring tea cups for Christmas, and then I bought myself the matching teaspoons in the Boots sale for only £5!
Probably my favourite thing about Christmas is the food! We have our full roast dinner (chicken and beef) in the afternoon on Christmas day, an then in the evening we have our little picnic buffet with lots of cheeses, cold meats, pizza etc. The cute paper plates, napkins and cups etc were sent to me within a little festive goodie box from Circus Circus
.. thanks guys! For dessert we had chocolate fudge cake, Christmas pudding, profiteroles, and pavlova… delicious!
Here’s my little baby Merl getting in the festive spirit! He hates me haha. And this is the outfit I wore for New Years Eve (quite a few lbs heavier after Christmas overindulgence..). I bought the pretty embroidered skirt from the Miss Guided sale and teamed it with a floaty sleeved chiffon top I found in Primark for only £8. My boyfriend and I went out for a lovely steak dinner and then a few drinks, but then we got sleepy so went home and fell asleep before midnight.. oops!
