Hey Nailistas! We’re rolling right along with the Digit-al Dozen “Decades” challenge. Today I’ve channeled my inner golden age of hollywood starlet with this glamorous take on the french tip. The “half-moon mani” was all the rage in the 1930’s. Why you ask?.. well, in part because women went a long time between manicures. The bare cuticle and tips meant no noticeable tip wear or grow out – those clever ladies. 🙂  The technique to achieve this look is super easy and can be done with virtually no special tools. I’m thinking it would be fun to start a regular youtube series on simple tools nail designs. What do you girls think, good idea?

To create this vintage nail art look all you need are some Paper Hole Reinforcers and Scotch Tape, along with a Dotting Tool if you wanna fancy it up with the dots.
In the 1930’s most popular nail lacquers were shades of red and/or pink. So I chose to go with Zoya Ember (from the 2015 Flair Collection). For the dots I used Essie Gool As Gold.

I really loved wearing these. Although the naked tips did make me feel totally paranoid about the possibility of chipping a nail. Haha!

Stop by my YouTube channel to SUBSCRIBE and watch me make these. And don’t forget to visit the rest of the Digit-al Dozen girls to see what they did for Decades Day 2.
